Use our homegroup google map to find a small group near you
Our weekly homegroups are in many ways the heart of the Vineyard. Meeting together in a small group once a week, we worship, pray, learn and get to know each other in a way that we couldn't do just on Sundays.
As we meet together regularly and share our lives with one another we receive friendship and practical support for living a stable Christian life. Also, growing up spiritually means learning to give to others as well as receiving from them. As our goal is to be the church, rather than simply go to church, homegroups are also places of participation. They're a safe environment where you can learn how to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit, and develop new areas of gifting and service for the sake of others.
Why have homegroups?
One of the first things that Jesus did was to start a small group. In this setting he trained and transformed a group of ordinary people into effective disciples. Later they met in one another's homes to worship, receive teaching, pray and share their lives together. They also sought to impact their communities with the gospel.
Meeting together on a Sunday morning has many benefits, but pastoral care is always going to be limited in such a large group. Homegroups are a great way of making the church "small", so if you're new you can easily meet people and find out what is going on in the church.
As all our groups organise monthly social events, they are great places to invite your friends. All groups have an open-door policy. They are relaxed and informal and you are welcome to try any or all of them until you find the group that best suits you. |
