Yet another brilliant album from worship leader/songwriter Chris Tomlin. The bar has been set high with previous albums, and this one doesn't disappoint.
If you have missed any of the previous efforts of Chris Tomlin, I can't recommend them enough. He is perhaps one of the most respected songwriters of current times, and has written consistently written songs which have found their way into churches across the world.
The bar has been set high with previous albums, with worldwide classics like 'How Great is Our God' and 'Indescribable'. While this new release may not have an obvious title track, it has provided an opportunity for Chris to show off his versatility. Tracks such as 'Love', with the Watoto Children's Choir are a marked departure from his previous work, but they do not fail to deliver.
Bluetree's "God of this City", which also featured in recent Passion albums is given the Tomlin treatment, and will surely find a wider audience.
The strengths of this album are perhaps found in the hymn-like tracks. "I Will Rise" and "Praise the Father, Praise the Son" demonstrate Chris' lyrical mastery.
A great addition to the Tomlin catalogue, and definitely worth buying. |

They did it! And survived! Well done to Ashleigh, Emily, Claire, Michelle, Lucy and Liz who ran an incredible 10k for Thembalitsha on a very hot Saturday in London. The money raised will go to support the work Tim and Maz are doing in South Africa. There's more information about Thembalitsha, or you can still sponsor them via JustGiving for a few more days. |
